Dear members of the Nordic Orthopaedic Federation

The Swedish Hip Arthroplasty Register was established in 1979 and celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. The success of the register largely depends on the now retiring professors Johan Kärrholm and Henrik Malchau. To acknowledge their important contributions to orthopaedics and to celebrate the anniversary, we are organizing a jubilee symposium June 13-14th, 2019 in Gothenburg.
A Collection of articles has been compiled in an "e-zine" for the anniversary jubilee. The articles have recently been published in Acta Orthopaedica and they demonstrate the diversity of endeavors the register-associated researchers undertake. We hope you will find these articles stimulating and that this research will contribute to improve care further for patients undergoing hip arthroplasty, which is the overall aim of the Swedish Hip Arthroplasty Register.

27th Scandinavian Hand Surgery Congress - early bird deadline 21st of June

We would like to remind you of the invitation to the 27th Scandinavian Hand Surgery Congress, held together with Singaporean Hand Surgery Society in Tallinn, Estonia on 21.-24. August 2019. 
Over the course of 4 days, a broad spectrum of topics will be discussed, as there will be 2 sessions running in parallel with one targeting surgeons, the other hand therapists, as the audience. Before the main event itself, 2 pre-congress courses have been organised:
19-20.08 wrist arthroscopy course in Tampere, Finland.
21.08 WALANT (Wide Awake, Local Anaesthesia, No Tourniquet) by dr. Donald Lalonde.

Invitation to the NOF Centennial Congress

On behalf of the Nordic Orthopaedic Federation I wish you all welcome to the NOF Centennial Congress 13 - 15 maj 2020 (pre-Congress symposium 12 May) in Trondheim. We will celebrate the first 100 years of NOF as an organization with focus on scientific exellence and uniting orthopedic surgeons from our member countries. The Centennial Congress will be a memorable experience for all participants. / Ketil Holen, Congress President                 
The scientific focus will be on general orthopedics and specific topics will be highlighted. The Centennial opening symposium will reflect milestones achieved in the past and future advances from our member countries. The pre-congress symposium on the 12th of May will focus on pediatric fractures which will be of interests both for orthopedic residents and specialists.
