- To show the societal significance of the diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system by means of, for example, lobbying.
- To strengthen orthopaedics in Sweden.
- To spread knowledge of the diseases of the musculoskeletal system to primary care (contact with SFAM – The Swedish Association of General Medicine).
- To better orthopaedic training within medical education.
- To strengthen orthopaedic education after undergraduate training on a corresponding medical intern level.
- To continually strive toward raising the quality of medical specialty training and higher education within orthopaedics (on-call training).
- To work for diversity with regard to gender, ethnicity, and culture within orthopaedics.
- To further cooperation with other specialties working with disorders of the musculoskeletal system.
- To work for the exchange of knowledge between physiotherapists, nurses and other orthopaedic-related professions.
- To strengthen international cooperation within orthopaedics.
- To call attention to both new members in the Swedish Orthopaedic Association and new specialists in orthopaedics.
Toward the marketing of the name brand orthopaedics. What is orhtopaedics? How should it be marketed? What is the current image of orthopaedics? How would we like it to be in order to make it more attractive?
