The Nordic Orthopaedic Federation (NOF)
presents her Strategic Plan 2010-2016
The Board of the Nordic Orthopaedic Federation (NOF) developed a strategic plan which was presented and accepted by the NOF General Assembly on May 7th 2010, during the 55th NOF Congress in Aarhus, Denmark. All NOF member countries, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland Norway, The Netherlands and Sweden, representing more than 4.000 orthopaedic surgeons, compliment the board and support this strategic plan.
Within the framework of the mission statement of the NOF, goals were formulated. The goals were developed on the basis of a SWOT analysis, and on opinions of stakeholders (Patients, international parties, governmental bodies etc).
Mission statement of the NOF
- The NOF wants to raise the level of orthopaedic care in the Nordic countries and to make this orthopaedic care available to all patients and thus improve the quality of life (mobility) in the Nordic countries.Improve the cooperation between countries and their main stakeholders.
- The NOF will offer member countries support in research, education and the development of orthopaedic care and the NOF will offer member countries support in their political/professional representation (finances, syndicate) and policy development.
Primary goals of the NOF
On the basis of the mission statement, the SWOT analysis and the stakeholders the following three primary goals are suggested:
- Improve the cooperation between countries and their main stakeholders.
- A better quality of care of our patients.
- An improvement of communication (public relations) and thus visibility (internal and external) of NOF activities and NOF achievements.
On the basis of the three primary goals the 14 objectives are formulated. These goals are operationalised in measurable and manageable objectives and action programmes. An executive organisation was set up support the activities.
